Tiffany Bows - China Glaze 'For Audrey'

For the past week I have had the following design on my nails. I was inspired by one of the girls from work. She mentioned that the ring she was wearing was from Tiffany's. Even though the jewellery is not my style, I do love the colour of the boxes it comes in. This manicure was my interpretation of the Tiffany box.

I used Seche Clear basecoat, two coats of China Glaze 'For Audrey,' top coat of Seche Vite, Konad Special Polish in black with plate m56, another coat of Seche Vite. I've then added rhinestones to my accent nails and sealed with more Seche Vite. This is the result:

I think it turned out really cute, hope you like it as much as I do!

Pink Lace - China Glaze 'IV'

I received my goodies in the mail last week so I did my first Konad manicure.

I used Seche Clear base coat, two coats of China Glaze 'IV,' one coat of Seche Vite top coat, Konad Special Polish in black with plate m57, tips were done with a random limited edition Revlon polish and yet another coat of Seche Vite to seal the rhinestones.

Not too bad for my first go with Konad, but also my first go at handpainting tips.

I call this manicure design "Pink Lace."

Intro - Getting Girly

The first post is always the worst post. So I'm going to make this as short and sweet as possible.

I'm not a "girly girl" yet not a "tomboy" either. I'm somewhere in the middle. I like shoes, yet only own 20 pairs. I like doing my hair, but will only be bothered on special occassions. This goes for make-up too. I like jewellery and dresses. I don't usually make an effort to be girly.

But there is one thing that I love and that is having nice nails. As a child I used to bite my nails till they bled. I was always getting told off for having a bad habit. I even liked the taste of the bitter polish used to prevent biting. Nothing worked.

Until I became a teenager. Somewhere along the line I realised my nails were disgusting and stopped biting them.

Now as an adult I have to have nice nails. Even if this is a simple plain manicure, a swipe of coloured polish or something more swish. I don't feel pretty without nice nails...

So this blog is my way of "getting girly." It also allows me the chance to remember my ideas that I came up with along the way. Maybe I can inspire some of you to look after your nails too.

So to all those girls who bite their nails, this is the proof that you can do it.

Come get girly with me!
